“Smythe – arguably the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite Canadian jacket label – presents their Fall 2012 collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week’s kickoff tonight, as part of the Holt Renfrew group show. Pop culture vultures will note that the collection includes a trim schoolboy blazer called the Warbler Tribute. Although inspired by the signature red-trim blazers worn by Glee‘s all-boy a cappella singing group The Warblers, the red varsity-striped jacket is more than just a nod to their collegiate choir style.

Smythe’s co-designers are Andrea Lenczner and Christie Smythe, and the latter’s brother Tommy Smythe is the decorating guru and Sarah Richardson sidekick who was also active in the recent “It Gets Better” project and campaign. When the Warbler Tribute blazer hits the sales floor at Holt Renfrew and other select retailers later this year, a portion of proceeds will be donated to anti-bullying organizations in Canada and the United States.
